Privacy.

Beta draft. Getfolio is in open beta. This document is the starting point — accurate to what the product does today, but expect updates as we leave beta. Last updated 23 June 2026.

This is the plain-English version of how Getfolio handles your data. Getfolio is a service that builds you a personal portfolio website by chatting with an AI. To do that, we need to store a few things about you and what you make. We try to be honest about what those are.

Who we are

Getfolio is operated by Nigel Basarokwe. Reach us at hello@getfolio.me with anything privacy-related, including data export or deletion requests.

What we collect

Account information — your name, email address, and (if you signed up with Google) your Google profile picture.
Portfolio content — anything you tell the AI or type into the dashboard: hero copy, projects, bio, photos, links.
Site configuration — the theme, accent colour and section choices we infer or you select.
Basic analytics — once you publish, we count pageviews on your portfolio so you can see how it’s doing. First-party only, no third-party trackers, no cookie banner.
If you connect LinkedIn (Premium, opt-in) — the permissions you grant on the LinkedIn consent screen, and a record of posts we’ve drafted or published on your behalf.

How we use it

To render your portfolio at getfolio.me/p/yourname (or your custom domain).
To let the AI build and update the portfolio when you chat with it.
To send you essential service email (sign-in, billing, security).
To show you your own analytics.
To meet legal obligations (tax, fraud prevention).

We do not sell your data, train third-party AI models on it, or share it for advertising.

Third parties we share with

We use a small number of vendors to operate the service. They only receive the data they need to do their job:

Vercel — hosts the website and runs the app.
Neon (or our chosen Postgres host) — stores account and portfolio data.
DeepSeek — powers the AI chat. We send only the conversation messages, not your account credentials.
Google — for “Sign in with Google” (if you choose it).
LinkedIn — only if you opt into the LinkedIn auto-posting feature, and only with the scopes you grant.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. That’s it. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies. If we ever add any analytics, we’ll use a privacy-friendly tool and update this page first.

Your rights

You can export or delete all of your data at any time from the Settings page in the dashboard, or by emailing hello@getfolio.me. Deletion is permanent and removes your published portfolio.

Depending on where you live (EU/UK, California, etc.) you may have additional rights — access, correction, objection, complaint to a supervisory authority. Email us and we’ll help.

Children

Getfolio is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we’ll remove the account.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest in our database. Passwords are hashed. We are a small team and we will tell you, by email, if a breach affects your data.

Changes

We’ll update this page when something material changes and bump the “last updated” date at the top. Significant changes get an email.
